Mirian's Hacking Page

Welcome to my hacking page. Eventually I hope to have all of my past and ongoing projects archived here. In the meantime, please feel free to check out our main page.

Archived projects:
  • The Incompatible Timesharing System (ITS). Written and used at MIT during the 1960s, 1970s and 1980s, this was the ultimate assembly-language hacker's operating system, with many features still unmatched even on modern systems. As it was very closely tied to the 36-bit architecture of the PDP-6 and PDP-10, it was effectively orphaned in 1983 when owner Digital Equipment Corporation discontinued the PDP-10 line.

This project explores the revival of ITS, primarily on PDP-10 simulators running on inexpensive and available current hardware.
